40 Hr Basic Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting

This in-depth course covers the eleven required subjects under Part 139. The curriculum includes classroom instruction as well as hands-on practical training utilizing firefighting/rescue equipment and procedures. Participants will experience simulated rescues in a smoke-filled environment, operate rescue tools for extraction, and will participate in live burn scenarios. The live burns scenarios exceed the FAA’s minimum requirements under Part 139 and provides students valuable experience with different types of scenarios including application techniques, utilization of SCBA, and attack scenarios. All training fires are simulated using liquid fuel providing realistic as possible training. Burns include interior galley, cockpit, overhead compartment, APU, wheel, engine, three-dimensional engine, and spill fires.

ANNUAL FAA Required Burns Only

This one-day course includes an ARFF topic review, safety briefing, and a live burn in accordance with the Part 139 requirements. Students will use an ARFF truck to control a spill and engine fire using an aircraft fire simulator.  Student will simulate real-world scenarios in emergency situations focusing on effective radio communication and coordination at airport facilities.

ANNUAL FAA Required Burns Plus Package

This one-day course will provide training on turret and hand-line operations on various fire evolutions. Fire evolutions may include interior galley, cockpit, overhead compartment, APU, wheel, engine, three-dimensional engine, and spill fires. All training fires are simulated using liquid fuel providing realistic as possible training.

The day will begin at 8:00 am with an ARFF topic review, safety briefing, followed by hand-line fire scenarios.

Starting at 1:00 pm participants will be trained in truck burns to reinforce their skills to quickly control an aircraft fuel spill fire by effectively maneuvering an ARFF vehicle while using a roof and/or bumper mounted turret.
